Alyse LaHue was named Operations Manager & Account Executive for the Chicago Red Stars on June 1st, 2008, after a 3 month stint as an intern with the team.
LaHue graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, with a degree in International Business & Spanish in 2004. She played and captained the women’s soccer team during her years at SAU. While studying for 3 semesters at the University of Ireland at Maynooth, LaHue was voted by her teammates to serve as VP of the Ladies Club Soccer team. That experience gave her a great appreciation of the business side of running a soccer team. She followed up that extended study-abroad experience with a semester in Cuenca, Ecuador.
LaHue returned to St. Ambrose after a year off to take on the Graduate Assistant coaching position of the women’s soccer side, while working towards an MBA degree. During this time she also coached at the club and high school levels, as well as organizing and assisting at youth soccer camps. LaHue completed her MBA in July, 2007, and then stayed on for a 3rd season as Assistant Coach for St. Ambrose.
LaHue cites her leadership positions in soccer, as well as her international travels and European backpacking adventure as some of her greatest memories.
“I’m in the perfect position where I’m able to combine my education in business and international studies with my love of the game of soccer. Marcia and Peter gave me an invaluable opportunity to excel as an intern in the early days of Chicago Pro Women’s Soccer, and I am eager to continue to be a part of the pathway the Red Stars are going to blaze in WPS,” LaHue says.
